My name is Neil Austin, I am a certified personal trainer currently employed at Gold’s Gym Woodinville. I am working toward my first show as a competitive bodybuilder, typically weighing in at around 235lbs.
Senior year of high school, I was 130lbs. Despite growing up around athletics and physical fitness, I struggled with body image issues and wound up with an eating disorder that stripped me of any and all muscle mass I might have had. Everyone told me I was too skinny, but I just didn’t want to be fat.
After a while I started getting into old school bodybuilding, and after watching Pumping iron for the first time Arnold Schwarzenegger quickly became my inspiration. i quickly realized I was going to have to eat more to even come close to achieving a bodybuilder’s physique. A lot more.
So I decided to put on 20 lbs. And then 20 more. I learned everything i could about training, nutrition, and supplementation. Soon I found myself 100+ lbs heavier than I was when I picked up my first 45lb plate.
After making this drastic transformation, I found a passion in helping other people make these kinds of life-altering changes. I got myself certified as a personal trainer soon after, and since then I have been working alongside clients to help them achieve a wide variety of goals.
Honestly I could not ask for a more fulfilling career, nor anything more rewarding than seeing a client succeed.
